The name Jesus is Lord (JIL) was handed to His servant whom He has used to establish His church as far back as 1978 and the vision of the ministry was given in 1998.

However, God’s word always comes to pass and this came to fruition in 2011, when the first church service was held in Ruskin House, Croydon.

The first ever gathering under this unction started as a weekly-30 mins Holy Communion meeting every Sunday in 2009, with only 5 members (the family of His servant – 2 adults and 3 children). The fellowship grew from just 5 members and Bible studies was added to Holy Communion, making it an hour-long service every Sunday evening thereafter.

The church of God continued to grow and counselling with deliverance sessions were also added to cater for the needs of the members as the Spirit of God led His servant. By the end of 2010, the gathering had outgrown the house fellowship capacity and on the 7th of August 2011; the very first church service started when we moved to Ruskin House in Croydon. We then registered Jesus Is Lord Embassy (“JIL Embassy”) as a charity organisation in the UK in 2012.

We continued our Sunday evening services at this venue and the church grew within a short period of time as God continued to add to the congregation. One faithful Sunday, the venue wasn’t available due to a Labour Party meeting that was slated for the same venue and this led to us using Jury’s Inn Hotel in Croydon for that Sunday ‘morning’ service. We never returned to evening service thereafter as that led to the launch of our fully-fledged Sunday Morning Service.

At the same time, God added our flagship Food-Bank to our charity commission which the Ruskin House management could not accommodate and this brought us to seek a bigger venue.
Miraculously, God made a way through and this was how we secured and moved to our current location – Unit 21B/C, Addington Business Centre, Vulcan Way, New Addington on 24th December of 2015. His church will continue to build until we reach our Canaan Land and the gate of hell will not prevail.

With our faith based on the Word of God and Jesus Christ being the Lord of our salvation, our Bible text is therefore taken from Philippians 2:1 (And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father).

This is the Lord’s doing and it is marvellous in our sight.

Praise ye the Lord! Hallelujah!!!
